Welfast Chemical Anchors are high performance anchor system for use in safety critical applications. The assembly works on the principle of adhesion between concrete and chemical (resin) thus eliminating any effects of expansion forces. Chemical anchors are highly suitable in applications requiring close edge and spacing distances. Also these are a preferred choice in wet conditions as well underwater applications.
Highly preferred in wet conditions and also used underwater.
No load stress imparted to the base material as with expansion type anchors, hence ideally suited for high load applications
No effects of pollutants as with mechanical anchors except the increase of curing time
No mixing, no mess and no waste
Light Duty Applications: These include many fixings for residential use (i.e. bathroom fixings, window shutters, satellite dishes, air conditioners, outside lights, hanging cabinets, etc.)
Vibration/External Force Applications: Chemical Anchor is ideal in settings where external effects must be considered. Vibrations due to wind or machine operation can be overcome through the use of Chemical Anchor, which will securely retain the fixing element.
Heavy Duty Applications: Heavy duty fixings can include varied weight loads where life and dead loads must be considered. This includes applications such as I-beams, balconies and railings.
Problematic Fixings: In certain situations, Chemical Anchor is the only solution for fixing a load. Problematic applications include wet and underwater fixings where corrosion and aggressive environmental effects must be considered. Environments containing aggressive chemicals or which are regularly exposed to salt water are also ideal application areas for Chemical Anchor. It creates a total form closure that protects the anchor rod from corrosion. Cracked concrete is another problematic application. Also useful in situations involving fixing a load with close axial or edge distance. Chemical Anchor will hold heavy loads that must be fixed close to the edge without creating any internal pressure.
Post-Installed Rebar: Post-installed rebar is an application that can only be completed using Chemical Anchor.
How to Install :
For the specified anchor size, select carbide or core drill bit with nominal diameter as listed below in Table.
Drill hole to depth listed below.
Essentially clean holes with brush and blower.
Remove debris with hole cleaning pump, compressed air or with a brush.
If the holes are wet or flooded, clean hole with brush.
Insert Capsule into hole.
Spin in Welfast Stud as per required anchorage depth using a rotary hammer drill.
Allow adhesive to cure for the time as listed below.
When cured, tighten nut applying the necessary tightening torque.
